Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Capplicorn ("we") handles information in the video player Digest Player ("the app").
Information stored on your device
The app stores the following only on your device. None of it is sent to us.
- Settings and initial playback values
- Watch history (video names, how far you watched, thumbnails) and Continue watching
- Saved network servers and favorite folders
- User names and passwords for network servers (stored in the device Keychain)
This information is removed when you delete the app. You can clear the history in the app at any time.
Photos and videos
The app asks for access to your photo library only when you open a video from it. The video you choose is used for playback and never leaves your device.
Network
The app connects only to the network servers (SMB, DLNA) you choose, and videos stream directly from them to your device. To check whether a video stored in iCloud can be opened, the app may check whether the device is online.
Advertising
When you use the app for free, it shows ads through Google AdMob. Only non-personalized ads are shown, and you are not tracked across other apps or websites. To deliver ads, AdMob may use information such as the device type, the OS and your approximate location (from the IP address). See Google's advertising policies for details. No ads are shown with Premium.
In-app purchases
Premium purchases and payments are handled by Apple; we never receive your payment details. We use RevenueCat to check your purchase status. RevenueCat handles an anonymous user identifier and your purchase history. See the RevenueCat privacy policy for details.
What we don't use
The app uses no analytics or tracking, and does not collect personal information such as your name or email address.
